Secretary General’s Secret Committee

Hello,

My name is Rodrigo Buanafina, a Penn State Junior from Brazil and the U.K. I’m studying Human Geography and Hospitality Management in the school of Health and Human development. I’m also very much looking forward to being a chair at PUNC 2012, particularly, that of the Secretary General’s Secret Committee. I have no doubt that this committee will be the envy of all delegates at the conference!

The basic premise of this committee is as follows. Well- it’s a secret committee, so your guess is just as good as the next person’s. What I can say, however, is that committee will be fulfilling and enjoyable for the newest of debaters as well as the most experienced of Model UN’ers.

It will undoubtedly test your ability to think creatively, speak convincingly, and act quickly. Let there be no doubt; this committee will be crisis intensive and delegates will have complete freedom to take committee and crises wherever they want.  Strong emphasis will be placed on character traits and abilities of the individuals who you will be representing. Due to the secretive nature, little in the way of policy research will be possible…at least for now.

My philosophy as a chair is simple. Allow delegates to have a memorable and enjoyable time while gaining something from their time spent in committee. I have absolute certainty that this committee will fulfill all those requirements.  Should you have any questions regarding this committee, what to expect or anything regarding PUNC 2012, please feel free to contact me at rodrigo@psu.edu.

Again, I look forward to seeing you all in February.

Rodrigo Buanafina
